This walk reaches a high point of 215 metres to the top of Pen Hill. There are a couple of steep hills on the way and the walk is 3.7 miles long. There is a lovely avenue of copper beech trees on the way back. I recommend taking a map with you, preferably an electronic one with GPS. You can park your car on the grass verge by the road avoiding the field gate and footpath at the start position (GPS 50.93954, -0.84932 - OS SU809161) shown by a red flag on the map, or in North Marden across the other side of the road near St Mary’s Church.
